RYLA (Rotary Youth Leadership Awards) is an intensive coed leadership training and development program. It is designed for 10th & 11th grade students from all Hawaii public and private high schools. It begins late afternoon on Friday and ends Sunday after lunch. It is sponsored by the Rotary Clubs on each island.

Rotarians from District 5000 donated items for the new residents of Kahauiki Village. On Saturday, August 24th, 2019, nearly 30 volunteers collected the donations as they were dropped off along with installed curtain rods in each of the new 30 units.

Kahauiki Project on 12/2/2017, a combined effort to complete two units with the efforts from RC Honolulu Sunrise, RC Pearl Harbor, RC Hickam-Pearl Harbor, Mickinley Interact, and other volunteers.

On March 24th, 2018, members from the Rotary Club of Hickam Pearl Harbor joined forces with the Rotary Club of West Kauai to help Kokee Resource Conservation Program by removing invasive plant species and plant native trees in Kokee (Kauai).

The Rotary Club of Hickam Pearl Harbor joins the Rotary Club of Honolulu Sunrise, Read to Me International, Institute for Human Services, and the Kahauiki Village at the summer Readers Rally where Rotarians served dinner bentos, as well as gave away a few raffle prizes to some lucky families. The featured guest was legendary Hawaiian Musician, Robi Kahakalau, who entertained the kids and families by reading one her favorite stories and performing a couple of songs.

Mo's Heroes | 4th Annual Koa Ohana Thanksgiving Celebration
Mo’s Heroes, Inc. is requesting your support for our homeless Veteran, low income Veterans and their families in our community. Mo’s Heroes will be hosting its 4th Annual “Koa Ohana Thanksgiving Celebration” on 23 November 2017. During this event, homeless Veterans, low income Veterans and their families will be able to enjoy a meal and will be giving a care package of toiletries to take with them. We are expecting to provide meals and care packages to at least 200 veterans and their families. Mo’s Heroes mission is to end hunger by providing food and other comprehensive self-sustaining resources.

HPH’s newly chartered Interact Club at Dole Middle School worked their first student-led #ServiceProject , a community food pantry. Under the advisement of HPH Youth Service Chair, Lisa Harding, and Dole MS Faculty Advisor, Grace Domingo, the food pantry was open to Dole Middle School’s surrounding community and families, of which 38 families were able to come through and pick up food. Donations came from a community partners, including the Rotary Clubs of Hickam Pearl Harbor and Metro Honolulu. Hawaii’s #FutureLeaders were able to impact a total of 135 people in their first service project.

District 5000 Rotarians joins Hawaii HOME Project with feeding the homeless in Kaka'ako.

It was PDG Hal Darcey that gave birth to our annual Rotary Gives Thanks Day as a means for Rotarians state wide to share the blessings we all enjoy and to acknowledge that not all are as fortunate. In previous years, Rotarians have collected food donations, served food at shelters, and made donations to charitable organizations. This year, the Rotary Club of Hickam Pearl Harbor partnered with the RC of Metropolitan Honolulu to complete service projects around Kalihi Elementary School. Rotary Gives Thanks Day is held on the Saturday prior to Thanksgiving.

The Rotary Club of Hickam Pearl Harbor participated in the District's 2nd Annual Ridge to Reef clean up on Saturday, April 23, 2022 by joining the City's semi-annual Pearl Harbor Heritage Trail (Pearl Harbor Bike Path) cleanup.
There were over 20 volunteers from the Rotary Clubs of Hickam Pearl Harbor, Ala Moana, Honolulu Sunrise, and Pearl Harbor.

A wonderful evening, approximately 75 meals were given out to residents. After everyone was gloved and sanitized, an assembly line quickly got all the carryout container filled with two slices of pizza and two snacks. A separate small carryout were filled to the brim with salad and veggies.
An opening blessings was given by Bro William Reynolds of HPH and the Lodge, residents were then welcomed to enter the dinning area and get a meal
12 separate meals were then set aside for residents not at this location.
The team worked efficiently. After residents were invited for seconds, the areas was cleaned and sanitized.

It was a hot day, but that didn’t deter 4 Rotarians and three guests from having a very fulfilling afternoon planting Milo trees to help reduce the carbon dioxide in the environment.

Setup begins at 6:00pm.
About Keauhou Shelter
Keauhou (Keauhou means “a new beginning”) is located at 1020 Isenberg St in Honolulu (Map). We accept walk-ins and referrals based on availability. Walk-ins can come as early as 8:30 a.m. to fill out an intake pre-application. If space is available, staff will schedule a new time for applicant to return to complete the admission paperwork (no later than 4 p.m.).
Keauhou provides emergency housing using the Housing First model. This model allows us to enroll clients straight from the street and assist them once they are housed. Keauhou holds 75 clients in a dormitory-type arrangement with shared bathrooms and showers, shared kitchen, and laundry spaces.
